Individual and couple therapy
Bianca Whiteman
Clinical Psychologist and Couple Therapist
About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Couple Therapist. People often arrive at my door at their most vulnerable. My practice is designed to be a non-judgmental, calm environment where you feel safe to fully explore your thoughts and feelings with a focus on acquiring skills to enhance your life and your relationships.
Together, we may explore Family of Origin dynamics to help you better understand yourself and your relationships. This may include your relationship with your children, your partner and your extended family.
We will examine the challenges you are facing, drawing on evidence-based psychological approaches tailored specifically to your needs and your unique situation.
What to expect
Therapy that moves at your pace.
The First Session
Our initial meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at your pace, exploring what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve.
Ongoing Therapy
Whether you attend as an individual or as a couple, subsequent sessions provide a grounding space for you to explore and better understand your thoughts, feelings, reactions, behaviours and patterns. With increased self-awareness and acquisition of new skills, individual and relationship change is possible. The number of sessions we have is determined by your needs, goals and progress, which we will regularly assess together.

Difficult decisions
A non-judgmental environment that supports empowered, value-consistent decision-making in complex areas such as fertility treatment, pregnancy anomalies and the decision to pursue parenthood.
Stressful life events
Providing support to process and contain the impacts of stressful life events. When appropriate, utilising Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to reduce distress associated with traumatic experiences or events, and improve quality of life.
